Backroads of Switzerland
Unpack Twice - Wengen (6 nights) and Zurich (1 night)

July 30-August 7, 2012
9 days 8 nights

Come and view nature on a grand scale, in a country already well endowed with spectacular scenery and breathtaking alpine vistas, the Alps contain some of Switzerland’s most dramatic and awe inspiring landscapes.

English author Mary Shelly wrote: “The mighty Alps, whose white and shining pyramids and domes towered above all, as belonging to another earth, the habitations of another race of beings.”

You will experience what Mary Shelly wrote about as you explore this awesome wonderland of towering mountains and peaks, deep green valleys painted with green rolling meadows and dotted with delicate alpine flowers. View and sail on beautiful shimmering emerald lakes reflecting snow capped mountain peaks. See and feel roaring waterfalls that shake the earth and rattle your senses as they spill over cliffs and steep walls as they tumble down steep mountain sides. Breathe in the clear clean mountain air as you absorb the sight of three of the most famous mountains in Switzerland, the Monch, Eiger and Jungfrau with their rugged cliffs and blue crystalline glaciers shining in the sun.

Experience unique travel by Swiss rail, cog-rail, funiculars, and intermountain cable cars, for they are the only mode of travel to these wondrous sights. Stroll through picturesque hamlets and villages, cozy in their valleys or clinging to their mountain peaks; soak up the culture and experience traditional Swiss cuisine.

All this and more when you travel the back roads of Switzerland. Join us for this awe inspiring adventure.
